Location of VVT Oil Filter Screen (P0012 code)
Location of VVT Oil Filter Screen (P0012 code)
Searched a few of this forum's pages after entering P0012 code in the main search box - didn't find any info. The PPI recommended changing the VVT solenoids and cleaning the oil filter screen - ordered a Haynes manual but it hasn't arrived yet and have appt with mechanic on Monday (1/15). Any help is appreciated.
Yeah, not a code we've dealt with before. Intake Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded

Here is the how-to for replacing the solenoid valve https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/
Not aware of VVT Oil Filter Screen, although there may be a screen on the bottom of the solenoid valve.

There is a filter screen on the VVT valve, I tried cleaning them, didn't help bought new valves.
No such code in the HHR OBD2 dictionary. If it was , I suspect it would mean that the intake actuator needed replacement.
