Locking Gas Cap

Locking Gas Cap

Does any one now where to get lock gas cap? or A way to add a solinod to prevent the fuel door from being opened unless the drivers door is unlocked?

Locking gas cap at checker or similar auto parts store. Wiring in a solenoid would require way to much time, money, effort, and fabrication. Just go to the parts store.

I don't think most people who don't own HHR's could figure out how to open it. It gives the appearance that there must be a remote cable release, as there is no knob or handle on the door itself. Many newer cars have a door that look the same.

You could easily take your gas cap into the store (remove the lanyard), and match up the threads to a locking model.

Yeah sometimes when I get refuled in NJ the gas guys question me about poping open the latch from a button and I have to explain that they must press the door in to open. (Only NJ and OR are states that pump the gas for you)

Im in a wheelchair so they all pump for me.lol.but not really cause I'm not that lazy.

Most any reputable auto parts store should have a locking gas cap. If not, try www.autotrucktoys.com They may have one

Thanks everyone, when I did the test drive and walk around I did think that it had an inside release, so other probably will too.
