Question Locking gas cap?

Can anyone recommend a locking gas cap for the HHR? The salesman recommended that I use only a Chevy-made cap for a proper seal, but the Parts Department said they didn't have any in their catalog. I picked up a Stant
gas cap (part # 1151) , but it looks a little different than the stock one on my HHR. Will this cap give me a proper seal?

Thanks

Newbie Dennis

5504 at AutoZone works fine for me. I also tried it on in the parking lot while the salesman was watching.

Problem is one motivated thief and a standard screwdriver and that cap is off.

I've heard the HHR is hard to siphon anyhow due to its looooong fill neck and tube.

The salesman at my dealer said that there is also some sort of spring down in the filler tube that prevents siphon hoses from getting down to the tank. My problem is that I work at a middle school. Unfortunately, the kids have access to the area where we park. Most of them are pretty good kids, but I worry about that one kid that might decide to put something in my tank.

Wasn't thinking about the vandalism angle. Good point. I would get one then.

Angry Vandalism on gas tank

I too am interested in a locking gas cap. I work in an office within a mall where there is no separate employee parking. The other day I came out to my car to find my gas tank door open and when I went to close it I noticed the gas cap had been loosened. I too was quite nervous to start the car for fear that something had been poured inside.

Any info would be helpful.
