Looking at Buying an HHR

Hi Guys,

Just joined your forum, looking at buying a 2008 HHR LS with 27K miles. I have a couple summer only cars and needed something to drive in the winter, my other winter car just died. This car is at a dealer and they are asking $10,500, clean CarFax, one owner car, have not seen it in person yet but thought with 27K miles that seemed to be a pretty good deal....I have the car on hold and will be going to see it tomorrow with cash in hand so will try to get it cheaper....what do you all think of that price.

thanks

Nick

Welcome to the site, that little trucklet will let you know if it likes you or not! At that mileage, not a bad price. Enjoy the ride!

Thanks, are there any known issues I should look for when I check it out.

Welcome to the forum. With that mileage not much to look for. Just make sure all the fluids have been changed. And also 10.5 for base model is way too much. I wouldn't pay more than 6-6.5 for it

KBB.com and other sites will give you the right price. Or your friendly local banker.

If regular miles, its likely a cream puff. If most of those miles were years ago, check it like you would any car that had been sitting a while.

If at a Chevy dealer it might even be Ally certified - a fairly comprehensive program.

Ended up buying the car today, got it for $9,200, probably overpaid a little but it was like new, even the engine compartment was spotless. It did have the original tires on it, Date code of 1408, they agreed to put 4 new tires on it for me, also has aftermarket wheels that are nice.

So it’s just an LS but thinking of putting a cat back exhaust on it to add a little rumble, don’t care about HP just like the sound, I have Borla,’s on my corvette and love the rumble. Has anyone done that....also going to upgrade the radio to a touchscreen JVC.

Contact Borla, they might still be making deals.
