Low fuel light

Can someone tell me how many gallons are in the tank when the low fuel light comes on? I got about 50 miles from home. Don't ask me how I found out?

I believe there are about 2 gallons left when the light comes on. I neglected to get gas the other day before going to work and it came on when I was on the way home. Filled up the HHR and it took 15 gallons and the tank holds 17. Don't usually let it get that low.

Haven't hit mine yet, Usually fill up at about 13 gallons, so I get close. (I thought we had a 16gal tank???)

I've been told...each vehicle is slightly different, but not by much. Also been told, it's 1.8 gallons of reserve.

Does the gauge extend below E (and below the horizontal position). I got it that far down and thought that I was pushing my luck and that either it didn't have a gas light or that mine doesn't work.

First time mine gave on I continued driving then it said I had a range of 50 miles, don't recall how much further I drove but then it only took 12.5 gals to fill to top. Light came on this morning when I started it, and said 50 miles and I drove about 12 miles to a gas station and this time it took 14.8 gals to fill.
Hey Deb, I believe the manual and everything else I have read says the gas tank on the HHR is approx 16.2 gals. and not 17
