Made a new friend!

I was on my way out to a job this morning and I was blown away when I saw a modded HHR in my rear view mirror. He pulled into a neighborhood and I quickly did a u-turn after him. I pulled up in his driveway in my company and jumped out as he was heading around the back of his house. I asked if he had time to chat about his wagon and he was super friendly and surprised that I was too an enthusiast of the HHR. We chatted for a good 30 min...could have easily kept chatting but my van was running and I had to run. His wagon is an 08 red panel, 55 tails, steel cowl hood, and dual exhaust. He's adde backseats and was running a Cgs intake. I told him about the site so hopefully he'll join. I'm sure we'll end up getting our wagons together soon. I manged to get a few pics...love what he has done even though it's a total opposite of my wagon.

By the way, he actually produces and sells the 55 tail light conversion if anyone is interested, shoot me PM and I'll get you his information.

He actually has a farm up between Cartersville and Rome and he has a home over on shallowford between Bells Ferry and Canton. I saw him a few weeks back on 41 coming from his farm but I couldn't get turned around quick enough to catch him. Super nice guy...has a few old cars that he keeps at his farm. Definitely loves his panel though. I think A&P bought his set from someone that was kinda getting out of selling them if I'm not mistaken. This guy still actively sells as far as I know.

Nope.

I bought mine Directly from the man that was making them. He is in Florida.

They are no longer available, just like many other HHR aftermarket parts.

He took his website down a few months ago, he had told me once his Stock on them were sold out he was done making them.

Unless one of his resellers (HHRBoutique) has a leftover set in their inventory they are another Discontinued item.(Unless he decided to make them on a as ordered basis through them only now) Or HHRBoutique has not updated their website because they still have them up on it.

A Black windowed HHR has a set only a few blocks away from me, after I install my supercharger I am going to get pics of both our HHR's together. (will be a good excuse to SEE just what he has under his hood) He has custom ghost flames, SS front bumper, and "SS" Emblems on it, even tho it's not an SS.

Been real curious to see what he's running under that hood. The owner owns that auto shop it is parked at and they have several race cars, they race the 1/4 mile.

Took down the pics of his tails and dual exhaust...someone mentioned his license plate in a PM and I don't feel like taking the time to edit it. You guys have all seen A&Ps and if not he's got a pic above.

This particular guy is still currently making these 55 tail lights...not sure if he bought a mold or what. He mentioned the guy in Florida and said his lights are the same but he charges about half of what the guy in Florida was charging. A&P bought the guys last set and got them for a little more than what this guy sells them for now. I don't want to talk about prices since he's not a vendor...don't want the thread deleted. Just wanted to share my experience today is all.

Dan (the maker of them) even tossed in the pre installed Blue Dots on mine.

I saved over $800.00 when I bought mine from Dan Directly. We talked HHR's and the tail lights for several weeks and he ended up cutting me a very good Deal on a set he had sitting already painted Black.

I have had a '55 Chevy since I was 17 or 18 years old (now 51), and I came across these '55 Chevy Tail Lights for the HHR even before buying my HHR Panel.

Once I saw the '55 tail lights online, I Knew I was getting a Black HHR Panel to put them on.

Not for everyone, but I LOVE them.

They definitely aren't my thing, but I think they look good when everything else is in line for an old looking wagon. The steelies and cowl hood with the 55 tails gives it a nice complete "oldie" look...love it! A set of 55's would look funny on the tuner look I'm going with.
