Mirror Reading Lamp

Thumbs down Mirror Reading Lamp

Was curious if any one has replaced or knows of a replacement for those worthless so called reading lamps in the mirrors...

What in the world was GM thinking putting those in...

I had the same problem with my FLE they use the worthless LEDs.
If it's any help, my new SS has real lightbulbs and is very useable. See if you can find one at a salvadge yard? I don't think the bulbs them selves are a direct swap.

If you have a sunroof the "center" light is so far back it isn't much help either.

Yea to bad that light couldnt be up front more.....

i noticed that the other day with 09's and went to look at a used 07 ls on the lot without the sunroof and there is a difference.

I installed the lamp below right on the dash. It really gives me excellent light!



Seriously though, GM has the lights BELOW the mirrior so you can use them WITHOUT blinding out the mirror while you are driving. So a passenger can read a map and the light won't blind the mirror while you are driving. It actually works. With my Wife's Honda Accord, you turn on the light and you can't see through the mirror because the light is so bright.
