Jalopnik is just another emag. The author of the article is Damon M. Lavrinc. Maybe he is just used to putting around with student drivers and doesn't know to put a vehicle through its paces.

I was just in Hawaii. You can"t get the feel of a mountain bike when you can only drive 25 MPH. Great place for a test drive. What a knuckle head.
