It`s time to show off you stock or custom HHR Road Ripper, you know, your $15 toy that took you six stores to find.

Here`s ours, painted to match the real one outside. Including Chrome grille, mirrors, and door handles. Black front bumper thnig and running boards.

Now I remember telling someone in your family to watch out because it would soon be painted.

It is already Blue Lagoon blue and the chrome is painted. I gotta find the right Green and make some stickers for the words on the side. I plan on painting the outer wheel itself orange also. Hey, I gotta go all out!

She knew it was going to be painted. We found it on Friday night before she left.

Clear didn`t quite work the way I`d planned it. I filled in the holes w/ the round buttons , then sanded them down. The triangular holes are filled in w/ pieces of plastic stock, and filler. The roof strips are plastic stock strips avail. at hobby/train shops.
I didn`t know there was a Ripper speed/dance compo thing going on, but I found one ,I can find another.

Sand it down a little, then clear it again. Put about two-three layers of clear on, lite coats only. Okay, I `m crazy, but I also wax my models as well, so put a nice coat of wax on it. Looks great Black Beauty, I want to do the pinstripe as well. I Like the chrome gas door.

Thanx Retro, I got some grief about taking the buttons off, plus the first time I painted it ,I got fisheye, I think the next time I`ll just leave it in the box.
I used to do a lot of models , thought this size would be a breeze, shows all the imperfections more. After having to strip it, I got nervous. The plastic got brittle, mirrors fell off, man what a nightmare. Plus I had to redo the roof.
I liked the way yours came out, nice and shiney. That`s what I was shooting for.
I don`t think a dance/distance compo will work, aren`t they programmed the same? Holla B/B
