Well now, these might be fun. Who can figure out what this is? I am not sure what a tech would be probing for temperature there. But that was a viable guess. Anyone else have a guess?

Nipple, I'm not sure where that description came from. When I first read the OPs post I never would of dreamed this was what he was talking about.

Kind of a long skinny nipple isn't it?

That looks a lot more like a shaft with a knob at the end....

My wife's ION has those as well.... to hold the plastic engine cover in place. The cover has rubber sleeves that slip on those things.

OK, you guys can run with this...

Yeah,right on the dipstick tube support bracket.All it does is give a place for the sight shield on a Cobalt to fasten.It does nothing on an HHR except to perplex upon first sight.
