The dealer that is installing my stage 1 upgrade is trying to screw me over. They are over 5 hours into the install, and see no end in sight. I was under the impression the install was 60-90 minutes. Does anyone have any dealership quotes, or work for a dealership and can provide me with one? It'd be appreciated!

Don't they have some spreadsheet they use to quote labor? Item one should take x-hours....item two should take x.x-hours.....

 

mine took two days But the line item on invoice said 215 before they gave me a discount for buying the car from them if you didn't buy your car there I'd say 215.00

 

I know a good place in Indianapolis, but might be too much of a drive for you.

 

i think the hhr is close to 2 hrs. I'm sure it is not in the flat rate book so some dealers charge per hour.

I think you should have investigated a little further before letting them do it.

My dealer charged $100 and it took 3 hours because I was quoted by the job.

also i spoke to the tech and even though it was the first one done at the dealer. he did he was extremely well-versed right down to the proper way to crimp the wires

 

Hey, guys. Thanks for the input. I ended up talking them down to two hours labor. With that being said, while I was there I had them install my new billet chevy emblems for the front and back. It's dark out, and I only took a quick glance, but it looks like the emblems do not fit very well (and they continued to put them on anyways) and made some pretty significant scratches around the area - probably when they were trying to remove the original ones. Avoid City Chevrolet in Columbia City, Indiana. Recently, the old owners - Thomsons - retired and it has went downhill.

 

You might have faired better in Fort Wayne perhaps Kelley Chevrolet.

 

Yeah... I'm an idiot. I'm only a few minutes away from City, and they had always been good to us in the past. The upgrade works for now - it 20psi on the few minute drive from the dealership. I'm going to mention the scratches and see what they say. Regardless, I have learned my lesson.

 

Two hours is fair. Gm gives 1.5-2 hours as expected install time. Anyone getting this installed should get a agreed price upfront of these hours. If it takes longer it is not your fault they do not know what to do. It is not up the the car owner to pay for the schooling.
