If I were you I would get running boards...
I bought mine without and I'm getting them installed real soon.
Also, if you like music, I would get the premium sound
Bright chrome package is a must if you want your ride to SHINE in the sun

I have a 1LT 2.2L automatic with the premium stereo w/XM and the roof rack. Those three add-ons put an additional $2K on the sticker price of just under $19K. I could do without the premium sound and only listen to XM on long trips. I'd prefer a portable XM radio so I can listen to it at work. The roof rack actually gets in the way (no cross bars) when I load my kayak. I don't have running boards and don't feel a need for them.

One option I would consider is the leather seats. The cloth ones are so hard to keep clean, especially with dogs along for the ride. I'd also like to try a 5-speed because of all the goods things posted about them on this board.

The HHR has so many standard options compared to other cars. You can get one fully loaded for a price or buy a cheap one and do your own customizing. Just a thought!

Welcome cadman!!

The only must have I think is the running boards. Gotta protect the rear quarter panels!

Other than that, don't think I would have gotten mine w/o sunroof and the 2.4 liter engine.

Mine came fully loaded, but I could do without the xm and OnStar.

Go to the Chevy/HHR web site and you can "build" your own unit. You can see just how much each option will cost YOU and if it is worth it to YOU. Thats half the fun of buying a new car.

A lot of the people here wish they had such and such option but Chevy doesn't offer it on the HHR so it's irrelevant.

Happy shopping.

Thanks for posting this cadman...like yourself I am in the market for an HHR and it is a great question for possible buyers such as ourselves.

I'm not looking for too much in the way of extras...in all honesty I'll be happy just with the auto, 2.2 and running boards. I'd like to get the fog lights also but having a real hard time locating on that has boards and lights

It sounds like the boards can be added at any time though??

antenna bezel

I was checking out the antenna on my HHR and I noticed online that you could get a chrome bezel...just wondering if anyone has one and if so how do you like it and was it easy to install?
