Need some help on what this might be
Ok guys, the wife started the HHR today and when she hits a speed over 40 the steering starts to shake, the car is not making any noise but she is really feeling a shake from the steering?
Any ideas or thoughts, I know the info is limitied, but that is what the wife mentioned over the phone
Thanks

Does this occur on its own...or when she applys the breaks.
If she apply's the brakes it could be the famous hhr rotor issue.
If not there is a multitude of things that it could be.
1. The car needs an alignment
2. The tires are unballanced or misshapend from wear
3. Front-end issues, ususally Tie-rod or something like that.
I would take it to a pep-boys or some other tire place and check it out...If its still under waranty, take it to a gm dealership first. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply
I did ask if this is happening when the brakes are applied, she said no
I was wondering myself if it was maybe an (hopefully only) an alignment issue, as over the weekend as she was pulling into our drive way during a significant snow storm, she mentioned she had to plow in with all the snow that had hit our drive way

x2. Happens more in the Focus because Chris uses it to drive back and forth to work. 80 mile round trip and alot of snow does get build up there.
Thanks for the input, we were going to wash this morning, but we thought that it might freeze a bit and would not be good for the wife at work. So when she comes home tonight, I am going to take it out, give a wash and see if that helps!
