New Headlight bulbs coming...

I did a bit of research and ended up ordering up a pair of Philips X-treme Power 9008/H13 bulbs for my headlights. They are +80% more output
using the stock wattage thru a more efficient bulb and element design.
They also are a clear bulb not like the US spec Silverstars that have a
filter coating that shortens the life of the bulb and reduces its actual
light output.

Ordered them from www.bulbs.com for $45 shipped. Once I get them
installed a take a couple of before and after pictures.

Had Brightstars in my trucks prior to the SS, want to change 'em over to the B-stars(no luck finding them locally currently) might give these a try, cuz i'm not that pleased with changing the B-stars out when one burns out prematurely.

Thanks for the heads up!

Installed the bulbs yesterday and gave them a try on the way home last night. My impression is that light overall is a little whiter (without the blue tinge like the Silverstars) and substantially brighter depending on high or low beams. The low beams don't look like they penetrate much farther but the illumination level is substantially brighter. The high beams have a noticeable longer distance illumination especially on the right side for making pedestrians and traffic signs show up better. The other thing I noticed is the middle area that always seems a bit dim is filled in much better now and really makes it look like the lighting is continuous from headlight out into the distance.

Unfortunately I don't have pics, my camera was unavailable. However this weekend i'll be down at my parents who also have an hhr with stock bulbs. I'll try and get a set of pics comparing the two of them.

I must agree....I will get a side-by-side with the nephews car. He has the Sylvanias. Might be a good comparison of brands.
