New HHR

Hey guys!

Well, I'm seventeen and seeing as how my parents are not the kind to give me handouts (which is awesome because I truly know the value of a dollar as opposed to a lot of high school kids who simply get everything handed to them) I have to buy my own first car. My tax return next year is going to be quite hefty and I was going to use that as a down payment.

Getting to the point, I wanted to know what everybody loves about the HHR as well as what everybody hates. Are there unforeseen problems with the the HHR that aren't apparent at the lot? Is it even better of a car than it looks?

All I know is that I went to a car lot today, sat behind the wheel and fell in love with the car. Its so stylish (quite like a 1940's coupe thats been modernized) and I could see myself driving down the road with pride. I just don't wanna get into something that Im going to regret. Please post back. Thanks guys!

You won't be sorry with the HHR, I am 68 years old and still enjoy driving this car. I have had vehicles in the past that I wish I had never owned, New and Old ones over the years. This is a good riding, well styled economical vehicle that brings out the fun in driving, it envokes the nostalga of bygone cars without the pitfalls of their ownership. This is not a HOT ROD, but a civilized up to date fun car with room to do just about anything you would want to do,

You won't regret it Igne, this car has nice looks and power. Don't let the 2.4L engine fool you. I just got back from a road trip to New Mexico and Arizona and I was zippin around all over the place pushing 85-90 with out a problem. My ride was loaded with my bikes and luggage. Saved me tons of money on gas too :)

first off - congrats on knowing the value of a dollar and hats off to your folks for teach it to you!
i think you'll love the hhr - it handles really well and from what we priced out - it's the best bang for the buck as long as you don't pay anything over sticker and you can probably talk them down quite a bit. the ride is nice - plenty of room - takes some getting use to if you have the running boards - have to kind of step out a little - but other wise it's a great car
