Thermometer, tells me what the air temp is coming out of the vents. Monday it was 112 going home from work. With the A/C on the air temp coming out of the vent was 38deg.

Wow, 38 degrees is really exceptional for a/c air. The best I can get, in approximately the same ambient, is 50 degrees (system was just evacuated and recharged by the dealer).
I also drive with an analog thermometer in my center air vent.
That was running down the freeway. It will go up to 41-42 on surface streets.

I use the standard size twist sunshade from Walmart that comes in two pieces. It doesn't tuck under the mirror but it does fit edge to edge around the windshield to provide full coverage.
