ok so i haave a very worenn key lost my spare and thinkinng about getting 2 new ones made with a new key fob. does any one know when i should start to worry about getting a new key made???

Generally, you have a new key cut from the old one. If the old one is worn, you're copying a worn key. If the key is giving you problems as far as operating what it's supposed to operate, then the copy will too. Best thing to do would be have one made at a delership based on your VIN and copy that one. It will cost more that way but I'd rather do that than copy a problematic key.

thanks i qm looking at a 150 dollar bill butttt i getting a key fob done to the new key is like 30 dollars

Are you having problems in the ignition or doors? There is a replacement warranty out for worn ignition cylinders.

The key has no direct relationship with the fob, why do want to replace them at the same time? The fob interacts with the RCDLR and the key interacts with the steering column.

You might try a locksmith to use your VIN to get a key made. Whatever you do, do not lose the old key until the new ones are coded to the steering column using the old one.
