Hi daHHRth! Welcome to the HHR Family! You will LOVE your car, and will also enjoy all of the great people and helpful info you will find on this site.

2006 1LT Silverstone Grey
MODS: Black "Chevrolet" decal on front grill,
wind deflector on sunroof, black pinstripes, silver
rear bumper mat (That's enough mods for me!)

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I can tell this site is what I was looking for. Everyone more than eager to help each other out.

GDZHHR, I can see from mitzkity's photo what you were talking about. The large, wide grille just doesn't do it.

I was thinking more along the lines of similar styling of the original upper, but on a more proportionate level for the smaller space, with not as wide bars.

I saw the billet style grilles, I may go that direction, or a small wire mesh style, color matched.

Again, thanks for your help!

What I did on my old version of Bob was I used a billet lower grill but blacked out every other bar. I thought it gave it better proportions.

That's the look I was going for! That or else all black, I can't decide which now. If I go chrome, that's it, though.

How did you black out -- paint or powder?

Just a little flat black spray paint. Less than 10 minute job.

Smile Newbie Member here!

Hey Everyone!!, Im a new Member here, just signed up!, I have had my little buddy (06 HHR Daytona blue metalic) for a year and 20 days!, I named him WHEELIE., and I love him..(Yes, Wheelie is a boy).

Wheelie and I have been through 2 car trips, 1 to Biloxi Mississippi, and the other to Miami Florida!, Wheelie was very excited and he personally liked Miami. I plan to take Wheelie there again soon as a reward for being a good boy.

I have pictures of Wheelie, but I need to download them from my CD's. so I will show him to you as soon as I can.

I just took Wheelie to the doctor for a quick oil change (Walmart Tire and Lube) he was very good for the technicians. so I got him a little Wal Mart Antenna decoration for being good. HEEHEE!!

Wheelie has to date only 6254 miles, I am a low milage driver, like my dear mom. I love Wheelie so much, he gives me good gas milage..(I fill Wheelie up with gas once a month..$40 a month) and doesnt ever complain to me.

I have seen so many reviews of the HHR and know many complain about the placement of the cupholders and the window switches, but let me say this on Wheelie's behalf. Wheelie, Like a human, is UNIQUE in its own way, the Good Lord has created Wheelie (Through the minds of GM people) in a special way, that means Wheelie is one of a kind, like us humans, therefore, we should LOVE our HHR's for what it is and accept it's personality. Wheelie to me is very special, (1 very first car I ever bought for myself) and I love his every feature and looks.(Hugging Wheelie's hood and kissing his Chevy Insignia)

With that said, I will end my greeting, I hope to see u all soon and talk about Wheelie more, Ill let you know how he is behaving.

God Bless all!

Love,
Jose
