New or Used HHR
I registered to this web page cause im getting an hhr but ive been debating sense i have been looking the year and millage i should buy.
My options are a new LS for 16,600.
Used 2008 - 2009LS with under 10,000 miles 14,900-15,500
Used LT 2008-2009 with under 10,000 miles 15,500- 18,0000 (i know thats a big range but thats what ive been finding them at
or Used LT 2007-2008 with 40,000 miles or more for in the 9,000 - 10,000 range
I really want the bumber to bumber warranty because ive had chevy's before and they needed them so just let me know what u guys think. and thanks for all the help so far.

when buying a used hhr,
you should figure out what the trade is, then add 1,000 to 1,500 to the price for the overhead. the vehicle is under warranty, so maybe for a little reconditioning they wont have money in it.
for instance an 08 HHR LT with 10k miles has a trade in of 10,250 in Good condition on KBB.
so you should get one for 11,750

Used is always your best value. We bought ours with 7800k on it for almost 4k less than the original sticker price. And we still had 18 months left on the warranty. That said, buying new has its merits. Full warranty, and you get the pleasure of breaking it in as your own from day 1. And given the economy, there are some fantastic incentives being offered.

Do you have a GM card with some bucks on it? They are now uping the value to $2000 on some cards. As I've stated before, there are a ton of rentals out there which makes it a buyers market on used. On the other hand, there are plenty of dealers that are going South that will need to move inventory. SHOP SHOP SHOP.
PS - This is a no-brainer for most of us, but it is unbelievable to me how many people go into a dealership and fall for the first question: "How much can you spend a month"? Always talk clean deal - actual price you are paying and discuss incentives, GM card, trade in very last. It is none of anyone's business what you have on your GM card.

If it is the difference of the new LS or used LT (w/ low miles) I would go w/ the used LT especially if it is a 2lt. That is assuming no incentives. I saved just over 4k off of sticker on my SS because of cash back and the GMS discount (dad retired from GM) I wanted a new SS cuz I wouldn't know how the previous owner had "beat" on it.
If you can do the cash for cluncker go w/ new as they, I am sure, are also dooing cash back.
I am actually looking into the cash for clunkers myself. I have a '99 cavy and would love to get a pretty much bare bones Pont G3 for a daily driver and a great price. Will only do it if it is low enough and I can pay cash, no need for 2 car payments. Just look into all the discounts available. such as USAA, already owning a chevy (gets you 1K off), recent college grad, ect. ect.
