No more HHR

My son has moved to Calf. He has never owned a car so the wife and I decided to let him have our HHR. 2007 with 13,200 miles. We will be trying to get along with one car a 2002 Ford Ranger 4 door. I'm no longer working and she works 4 miles from the house so if I need transportation I'll just drive her to work.
In 12 months we have gone from a Corvette and HHR to a Ford Ranger. Such is life.

Spoiled son!!!

My condolences on having to drive the Ranger... I used to own one. That auto tranny was awful!! Great 4x4, but I wished I had the manual. I couldn't afford to be fussy back then though.... I took what I could get!

Well that is pretty cool to hook up your son that way.. Good for him..

My Dad made me work for him to earn my first car, a 1953 Chevy 210 Deluxe, that had a 'spun' rod bearing. But I was proud to get it, it didn't (obviously) run, but I was only 15 anyway.. Miss that car...
I think my Dad figured that might spark my interest in mechanics, & not street corners smoking cigs.. He was right....

I know what you mean. I gave up my Blazer for Cash for Clunkers so that my son could use the $4500 for a down payment on a Cobalt. It was beat, but got the driveway plowed and me to the ferry landing every morning. Good 'ol Blazer...

Gotta do what you gotta do.

He is paying something every month so it's not FREE but no where near the wholesale value. I figure if I can do something now while he is in need why not do it.

So far the Ranger has been fine. Trans has been okay. It has 83,000 miles on it.
May look for a used Caddy, something big. We only do about 9,000 total miles a year
