well u hit that correct as i found a biz card in the car it was in the owners man, called the # and the orig owner called me back i got alot of good info, not a bad car just alot of highway miles ,123456,WOW, and still runs great, need front struts and rear shocks but that cool, so if u have one and u are scared of high mileage don't be,its a running machine!!! go hhr go hhr,,,,ok i got one for u can u get the rear hatch open with a dead battery as the wreck one i have has no power and would like to open the rear door lmk thanxs dave i think i just need to jump it,,,,is there a cable??

to jump start the hhr, pop the hood and on the (thinking....) driver side strut tower you should see a - (neg. picture) and then on the fuse box, there should be a red cap like top. those are the jump start points. as far as for the future you can make it so that if your batt. dies again, you can still pop the hatch. theres a thread in here somewhere and if im not mistaken, is also should show you how in the manual. search around or someone might post the "how to" thread soon.

Crawl through the interior to the back liftgate. There is a small cover at the bottom of the liftgate trim panel that you pry off and the manual release is inside of the opening. Do a search because there is a how-to thread somewhere on this issue.

1bluhhr, here is info on the lift gate
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/general-hhr-4/online-owners-manual-3074/ this is the thread for the on line Manuals. Page 107-108 of the 07 manual explains and shows how, the best.
