EL_REY 10-31-2006 08:29 AM

ok i guess

but maybe a sort of fade between the blue and black would look better....i thought of doing that to my orange H, but it would be too "halloweeny", but i thought of doing the fenders, like around the wheel well back to the running boards to the rear fender...

umm is a stubby antenna REALLY a MOD? :nono:

Markiemark 10-31-2006 08:31 AM

That looks good.

Can you photoshop me one, a Gold (Sanstone) on bottom and Black on top (Tinted Windows) lowered on Boyds 17" wheels, PLEASE!!!

Later,
Markiemark

Joking aside, GOOD JOB, look out now!!!!

captain howdy 10-31-2006 08:31 AM

Not bad. See you don't need anyone to do it for you when you can do it yourself. :thumb:

O6ChevyHHR 10-31-2006 08:35 AM

Markiemark what type of Boyd wheels do you want?

riverwind 10-31-2006 08:45 AM

06 - Pretty good "first attempt".

One suggestion i would have is reversing the gradation of the background. In other words make it darker on the top and lighter on the bottom. Then the gradation will be oppsite the dark bottom and lighter top of the car. That should also make your wheels stand out more.

I don't know if you have layers in whatever application you're using, but if you do and saved the original .psd (photoshop) file, it should be easy to do.

06, This is Just my opinion, doesn't mean its right for you.

Keep up the good work. :thumb:

Heres something like you want Markiemark.....

GDZHHR 10-31-2006 09:10 AM

Good job Mike...now you can go to town and have a ton of fun doing your own photoshops. I think it would be easier to visualize the difference if you had a different background. Keep up to good work kiddo. :thumb:

Here's my proposition folks...how about each one of us provide him with a side shot of each color HHR that he can use to work with. I'll offer up this one of Smoke. This was back when the car was pretty much stock.

dont' too good a job or you'll get a lot of requests to "do a Photoshop for me!"
See ya got a request already! :D
but nice first attempt. I've been working in photoshop for about 15 years and I feel like i've only scratched the surface of what it can do.

O6ChevyHHR 10-31-2006 01:39 PM

Dose anyone have the Photoshop CD that they would like to send me so I can install it on my homecomp instead of doing them at school? I tried going online to download a version of it but none worked for me!

fantomfreke 10-31-2006 02:01 PM

not bad for first trys. just remember layers are your friend. you're cropping something off the side and the top, just out of curiousity what is it? i ask because i can see the part of the boxes.

courthousedeb 10-31-2006 02:26 PM

Talk to your instructor or other classmates...I'm sure one of them will have access to what you need. :thumb: Keep up the good work.

fantomfreke...I think he's taking screen shots off the wheel visualizer sites and then doing his mods in photoshop. Background looks awful familiar to me. That's probably what you're seeing.

06ChevyHHR

You did it. Now just keep practicing and learning. :D

MOTRV8D 10-31-2006 05:09 PM

layers are your friend, yes.
so is the pen tool. Learn how to use that, (along with paths) and you can draw and select just what you want (for the most part, things that have hard edges.)

O6ChevyHHR 10-31-2006 05:47 PM

Its a screen shot off Tirerack! , I used it becasue they are the same size and easy to work with, then I put them into photoshop and did my customizing in there! Thanks everyone, Ill keep at it ~

SindyDix 10-31-2006 06:52 PM

Mike-congrad's on your Photoshop work. I, as well as everyone here on the forum, are very proud of you. Years ago when I was remodeling my house, I used an old program to make the changes on the computer before I actually did the construction. It is great to be able to see what you want to do before you actually do it.

I use Photosuite 8 for my photo editing (free after rebate and upgrade). I could probably do more stuff like what you guys do, if I only had the time.

Again, keep up the good work.:one:
