Exclamation oil amount

getting ready to change oil, does anyone know how much oil the HHR 2.2 takes, can't find it in the book. Thanks Bill

Should be 4.7 litres or 5 quarts.

Don't do like I did and think 1 gallon is 5 quarts, because it's only 4!!! Stupid dipstick looked full....that thing is hard to read I guess!

CCK- with a shiny dipstick, I use some fine sand paper on the end. To dull the finish, this way you will see the shiny oil line much easier.. Then of course clean properly & re-install..

The GM Proving Ground guys always said (and did) fill until it is even with the full mark on the dipstick.....no matter what the Owners Manual or the specs. call for (I didn't necessarily agree with this because of the possibility of an assembly error in the dipstick).

But maybe you would need to "sand" the metal of the dip stick to see it better.

Dip sticks are hardly precision. You should always fill, per factory stated capacities. The dip stick is only a rough guide.
