Onstar review

So tonight I was checking things on my other car(in case I cant drive the HHR see post https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/need-help-asap-21004/) and reliezed I had a tire gage in the car but didnt have my keys to unlock it. So I decided to try Onstar out, since I have yet to do so and its coming up to the end of my free year, to unlock the car. All I can say is it would have been faster to go up to my apartment and get the keys, after getting all the necessary verify its me out the way it was unlocked but took about 15-20 mins to do so had it been an emergency I would have been a pissed. The funny part is it turned out the tire gage wasnt in there. Has any one else dealt with onstar good or bad?

okay so tried it again with my moms car again because i actually locked the keys in the car. the onstar lady said on top of where you are it depends how busy they are, how high of a priority your situation. say you lock your kids in the car god forbid but that gets a higher priority. just thought i would throw that out there

My key experience

Also, I end up arguing with my car over phone numbers, even the ones programmed to my voice. It has taken me over 20 minutes to get the system to dial the proper number. I have no problems with anyone else's voice recognition software. Onstar is useless for me.

I managed to lock my keys in my car, about 3 months after I bought it. Called Onstar...

nothing. they couldn't do it. They said it was because I must be in a parking garage (no clear view of the sky). no. 2 blocks from a cell tower, outside, in a parking lot, clear view of the sky.

2 weeks ago, the MIL came on (Reduced Engine Power sucks, btw), called OnStar, they told me what the problem was, scheduled an appointment with the dealer, fixed next day (throttle position sensor issue)

I'm still debating on renewing when the year is up.
