Smile Ordered a 2011 HHR 2LT today.....

Well I made the decision to order a 2011 HHR 2LT after a few weeks of thinking. Well a few weeks of thinking and wondering if the other half would strangle me for getting yet another vehicle. Paddington the 2007 is safe and not for sale, I just figure if one HHR is great, two is even better.

The new critter will be fairly well equipped with the 4-spd auto, spotter mirror, power sunroof, bumper protector, stereo with the USB port, spare tire(why would you ever go without?), and the cargo convenience package.

Oh yeah, Mocha Steel metallic with an Ebony leather interior, nearly forgot that. The local Chevy store worked with me so I'm getting it for $100 over invoice, now its just time to sit back and wait. If anybody is wondering what does this guy's wife drive, well she's always marching to the tune of a different drummer. The beautiful lady has a Peugeot 405 Mi16, which like her is quirky, French, and very sharp.

Thanks Greybeard, I just wonder how many here have multiple HHR's, or am I just weird? OK, answered my own question, I have a herd of Corvairs.

Multiple HHR's is ok, it's the herd of Corvairs that makes you weird

Very cool! I like that color! I saw one for the first time at the dealer a couple weeks back. If I were to get a new one, it'd be that color!

Options vs modifications

I believe it's always good to load a vehicle with every single factory option you desire upon acquisition. I then add modifications not offered by the factory early in my term of ownership so I can enjoy them longer. I love my leather, heated seats. I think you made a good choice on color and options. I strongly prefer the manual (but only with a short shifter) due to better mileage and performance. Did you consider the manual transmission at all in your decision-making, since you were doing a custom order? It was extremely hard for me to find a used, loaded 2LT with manual transmission. With a new special order vehicle, the possibilities are limited only by the factory's current offerings.

Hey reelhhr09, another person from K-town, cool! Now to answer your question, Ben Mynatt's over in Concord, couldn't quite come together with Larry King. Kind of a bummer too since I can just about throw a rock from the condo and hit King's on a good day.

Sadly Doctuh, my 5-speed days ended back in the late 90's. My left knee was pretty much destroyed in an accident at work. I was, until the accident, very much anti automatic but circumstances now mean that shifting for myself is a very limited deal. Only the '37 is a manual, and the old critter is very gentle to drive.
