Origin of the HHR
Yes, we all know that the original designer of the Chrysler P.T. Cruiser moved to G.M. and designed the HHR, but I just came across this P.T. Cruiser styling study called the 'California Cruiser', and to me, it's got quite a lot of 'HHR' in it........ This was done in 2002.
Sorry if this has been posted before. http://www.autointell.net/nao_compan...ifornia-03.htm http://www.autointell.net/nao_compan...surfer-640.jpg http://www.autointell.net/nao_compan...h-side-640.jpg |
I can see the embryonic form of the HHR's rear fenders and bumper there, maybe the shape of the windshield too.

I am digging those wheels. Just need bowtie emblems in the center!

Good eye. You can really see where Bryan lifted the greenhouse and the backend for the HHR.
I would say if you cover the front clip and posted this many would think it was a new HHR prototype. I saw this years ago and forgot about it. Thanks for posting this as I can really see the first ideas on the body lines. Looks like the the HHR is the PT Chrysler never built. |
