Over winter battery maintainence?

I just finished my HHR detailing before winter storage in my garage. Can anyone give me a definitive answer if I can hook up my Battery Tender to the under hood + post and a ground to maintain the battery till next spring? Or should I unhook the cables at the battery and hook it up direct? Thanks, slantram.

Leave the battery connected and hook your Battery Tender up underneath the hood using the connection points used for jump starting.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure the same thing. I've seen it said before, but the more people then the more surer I am. (Is surer a word? It is now...)

But yeah Slantram, I just cleaned up my HHR really good and put a coat of wax on it, and tucked it away in my grandpa's barn on the 3rd. Kinda sad, but my insurance refund will be nice!!!!

When I am doing a lot of stuff inside of mine, or it just sits & I ride the Bike, I'll throw the 'battery tender' on. Just to keep it fully charged..

There are a lot of electrical things (clock & calender & more)that continually draw a bit of juice. Even in the owners manual it suggests to give it a charge from time to time if it sits.

I always just go under the hood for connecting..Like the manual states as well.. (and good time to check all fluids & hoses & belt , etc)..

Especially need to check the automatic tranny fluid level
