Yesterday morning the passenger airbag light switched from off to on and back to off again several times. Each time it came on the passenger seat belt warning light came on. The only thing on the seat was a 12 CD case, a few loose CDs and my cellphone, nothing more than usual. This must of happened about 7 or 8 times. It has not happened since. The only thing different from other days is there was a heavy rain but I don't know how that could have any impact since I would think all the sensors are in the interior. Any idea what the problem is?

GM says cellphones on the seat can do it.

Sounds like the passenger sensor is whacky. check the connector under the seat first for a good connection and corrosion.
