Ive got an 08 hhr 2.2 and ive had it for about 2 years. I have around 93,000 miles on it and over the past month ive had power loss. it jsut doesnt have the umph like it had when i get on it.

always run synthtic oil
clean air filter, even custom ram air through fog light hole.
trans serviced regularly.
use fuel injection cleaner every oil change.

Could be simply a clogged fuel filter or fouled plugs. Alternatively, you could be losing compression through worn rings/valves, head gasket or cracked head/block. Easiest check would be a compression test/cylinder leakdown or fuel filter. Fuel pump could be going out also. Since you indicate a clean air filter, that can be crossed off. Unless you can do this stuff yourself, take it to the dealer or qualified shop to give you a diagnosis. It won't get better before it gets worse, but at 93K on the clock and two years of someone elses care which may not have been as good as your dedication something may have worn out. Hope something easy and inexpensive is discovered, good luck and let us know what it was when you get it corrected !!

We do not have fuel filters so x that out already. There is a sock on the pump but it is part of the pumps components I believe.

Plugs are recommended at 100k IIRC so I would start there.

If they are good then on to the items sidecar listed.

I'd start with plugs also, use only AC Delco Iridium plugs when you replace them, folks here have tried other brands and some of the "Amazing 47 Electrode Wonder Plugs" with nothing good to report. Go with the plugs the engine was designed around and life will be happier.

Agree with the above regarding plugs.....and also with the Iridium plugs. If you were able to achieve 93,000 trouble free miles, why change to something different.
