power seat adjustment

S.A.Q (silly assed question) of the day.
I test drove a 2LT model today and although I lowered the electronic power seat all the way down my head still banged on the sun / moon roof. I never had this problem on my LS model. Plenty of head room. I'm 6'3". Is the seat out of alignment? Is this fixable or what? Any thoughts. Thanks.

The headliner in a sunroof HHR is about 1.5 inches lower than the non-sunroof models.

Did your LS have a sunroof? Cause yeah, the sunroof takes an inch or two out of the headroom measurements

I have about 4" of head space in the LS. I can see losing an inch and a half to the moon roof, but I must be losing a lot to the power seat (motor?, mounting?) 'cuz my head goes through the roof by about an inch.
I feel like a girl on prom night with her head out the limo roof. :o)

My 2008 2lt has power seat and moon roof and I am 6' 1" tall. I have no issues when I am driving. I only have about an inch of play there to the roof.

Manual seat on the LS.
See the reply to the next comment for the surprising solution.

Davis,
Thanks to all for the insights.
The dealer called today with the surprising solution. A penny got stuck in the works and was preventing the seat from lowering down all the way. they took a deposit and are fixing a few minor problems. The car should be mine within a week. Hooray.

Sunroofs add weight and raise the vehicle's center of gravity, add cost, rob headroom, and leak and malfunction eventually. Other than that, they're fine.

I'm 6'5" and won't even look at a car with a sunroof. I have plenty of headroom in both of my HHR's, one with a manual seat and one with a power seat.

With some cars it's feasible to lower the seat and/or move it back. Never gave that a thought for my Heritage High-Roof's though.

Sorry that you have had so much bad luck with sunroofs. Out of my last twenty cars, only two have NOT had sunroofs - including, unfortunately, my current HHR - and I have yet to experience any problem at all. I have made a practice of occasionally lubricating the operating mechanism and cleanings the tracks and sealing gaskets. .
