Question Price on Spring Edition

Hi all.
Well, I'm one day from getting my 2006 Spring Edition HHR.
It's the second car I have ever bought and not that good on telling if I got a good deal on it or not.
Car is going for 22k, got it dropped down to 18k. Is that a good deal?
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Since there are only 2300 of them being made, I'd jump on it.

Well the only thing that concerns me is that the engine is 2.2 and not 2.4. I read on the net that makes a difference. Don't know how much of a difference I would notice coming from a 2000 Ford Focus with 2.0.
Also another thing that it is missing is Anti-Lock brakes. Also, don't know how much of a difference they make.

Yeah, it is cool that Victory Red has a limited number! :)

My 2.2 has ABS brakes
ABS brakes and traction control have to go together to get them on a LS or 1LT

i have traction control, ABS brakes and head curtain side air bags on my LS. came as an upgrade package

Depending on which 2.0 you have on your Focus, you're looking at definite horsepower improvement, as one has 110hp and the other 130hp. The 2.2L HHR has 143hp, while the 2.4 has 172hp.

I bought mine off the lot and it came with the ABS brake option and a 2.2L engine. Some people like ABS brakes, while others wouldn't take them if they were free.

Basically, it's a matter of how much more power you're looking for and what will make you happy. The Victory Red comes with things that aren't available on the other HHR's, so you really need to decide if you're willing to sacrifice some things in order to get others.

Look forward to hearing what you decide to do...and to chevyhhr.net.

Well I did find one at the dealership that is for the same price and has:

Daytona Blue
Leather
Heated Seats
Compass on rearview mirror
Pioneer sound system
Anti-lock brakes
Sport suspension
and the 2.4 engine

Man, tough decision!!!!

I really like the Spring Edition, but don't want to regret it later on that I should gotten it with these items.

Keep in mind that the Daytona Blue is being dropped from the 07s. This should help to keep it as a somewhat limited edition.

Given the two options I would personally go for the blue one. If it's the same price as the spring edition the daytona blue seems like a way better deal.

I would agree with CH and I don't think you will regret having the 2.4L with the sport suspension.
