No, Capt new the one I was talking about. I didn't realize production had stopped in 06. The GT500 is just a hopped up Stang.

Actually the final 11 bodies were disassembled and the frames and body panels were sold as service parts.

Damn, wrong on both accounts!

Speaking of the GT, I just passed one on the highway a couple weeks ago going to a concert. It was red with white stripes, and pretty as could be... And then I seen an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster here in ENID!!! Two very expensive Ford products in less than a month! But seeing the Aston Martin in this town surprised the hell out of me! If you lived in Enid, or knew anything about it, you'd understand. There are rich people here, but I didn't think any were that loaded!

You want exotics? Come up my way. In the past six weeks I've passed by one Lotus, one Lamborghini, one Viper and five (count 'em, FIVE ) Ferraris.

OMG! I know I'll never own one unless I miraculously win the lottery or something, but damn do I love to window shop!

I even thought about jackin' that Aston Martin! (J/K)... I would have brought it back in pristine condition as it was! JUST LET ME DRIVE IT!!!

There is this, from this website: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...ork_auto_show/

The FORD FLEX

2007 New York Auto Show: Winners and Losers

Another auto show is now under our belts, and that means it’s time for us to determine the big winners and losers among the new production and concept cars that debuted in New York. Mike Hanley, David Thomas and Joe Wiesenfelder break down this year’s field.

Ford Flex
DT: Loser
I wanted this to be all things and it wasn’t. What it seems to be is a low-riding crossover with some small resemblance to classic woody station wagons, with a little Range Rover mixed in. In the end, it’s actually just a stylized minivan without sliding doors.

MH: Loser
Arguably the most significant debut of the media preview, the three-row Flex crossover was a bit of a letdown. Sure, it's distinctive, but the interior doesn't raise the bar like others in the segment have, and its surf wagon appearance might have trouble gaining broad appeal. Ford needs another smash hit like the Mustang. This just isn't it.

JW: Loser
Lots of dittos. This is such an important introduction for Ford, in a vehicle class that's growing in both buyer appeal and number of models. I'm enthusiastic about the Edge, and the Flex might prove as engaging to drive, but I don't think its styling is going to be a draw.

Hey Lone Ranger......

How about the Nissan (Datsun) Z-cars (thanks to Cheri)??? Weren't they made from the late 60's into the 90's, then production ceased for a couple of years. Production started up again with the current 350 style??? Not absolute retro, but close.

While they're not completely retro-styled, or not really meant to be anyhow, they did stay pretty close to the general idea of the originals. Just like Nissan and Datsun had the Z's back then, Nissan still has the Z and Infiniti has the G Coupe (same platform).

I would have never thought of the Z, Snoop...

If we go that route, what about the RX-8?

Was there an original RX-8 back in the day?
