Too bad a neighbor didn't contact you when it was happening..
And good the paperboy spooked em..& he does deserve a Good Tip !!

Glad you still have your ride !!

Just FYI: I tested my GM Alarm system & All A-OK, I couldn't even 'coat-hanger thru the grille' pop the hood without it triggering the alarm. (I tried)..

Owners Manual states it has everything, etc... But I just needed to check for myself.
I don't know for sure if after the 30 seconds when it re-arms itself, if the Alarm continues or not, cause my 3 Caddy Horns are Plenty loud..

So that was the only test I did not attempt.. Ears are still ringing..

Sorry to hear about the pyro. Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Here's what you might want to get for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGPVD...eature=related

Alarm goes off in my hood and everybody wakes up and turns the lights on. My neighbor has rigged up a motion sensor light in his driveway...it has an extension cord that runs to a plain old am radio next to his bed. If the light comes on, so does the radio. Wakes him up and he takes a peek at his car. He hates squirrels and stray cats...they keep him up at night :)

Smooth-
About 20 yrs ago, (bachelor days) I kept my bikes in a shed.. I had rigged a motion light up as well & ran a cord into my bedroom, hooked up to a power drill with trigger engaged, next to my bed.
Many a night I flew outta bed only to see a raccoon, or a squirrel ...
But it worked..

I sleep much better now with everything inside..
