Q-Horsepower motor oil
Bah... not so much. Did my oil change today, drained the Mobil Clean 5000 5W30, removed the dirty oil filter, installed a new AC PF457G filter and 5 qts of Q-Horsepower 5W30 full synthetic motor oil. It now feels like I'm pulling about a 500lb trailer.
FWIW, I only bought the stuff (last year) due to a free after rebates offer from Pep Boys and Quaker State which added up to $30 total rebates on 5 qts. Actually, I think I made a couple bucks on the deal.
I knew going in that it was all hype, but still, being full synthetic I guess in the back of my simple mind I was hoping for a little better drivability than conventional oil. Really, though, I don't understand why the throttle response now feels a little bit muted compared to before.
Logic seems to dictate that there should really be no difference, since a hydro-dynamic film of oil is a hydro-dynamic film of oil regardless of base stocks used.
I will say that the Q Horsepower 5W30 seems to have a pretty thin watery viscosity (at least @ room temp) compared to conventional.
