Well, it was a replacement for my Astro. She wouldn't drive the Astro unless she was forced to. She hated that "square box" as she called it. Now that I have the HHR, hard to keep her out of it. I bought her a 96 Monte in 95, then my Astro in 99, then her a used 03 Impala in 04, I got the HHR new in 06. We alternate who gets the new vehicle when it's time, usually high mileage dictates when that is. Her car will be the next one we buy, what and whenever that is. The Monte had 175,000, miles, the Astro 98,000 miles and the Impala now has 98,000 miles. The HHR has 13,400 miles and is only 7months old. She smokes, and I've asked that the HHR not be subjected to that odor, as I quit after my heart attack 8 years ago and so far she has not smoked in it. Taking her on a trip is full of stops though. Guess that is why we haven't gone very far in it. Oh she loves driving the HHR, is hard to keep her out of it. But she does tell the kids, That's Dad's car.

We bought it for my wife to drive 37 miles one way a day. We also were looking for a car that was good on milledge and I was looking for a keeper and classic. She drives 4 days and I drive on fridays and weekends. I get the pleasure of cleaning and detail work. Plus she loves all the mods that I have done to the HHR. She says she has one of the sharpest cars on the road.

I'm her-less at the moment... there's got to be some bennys from being divorced, so this is one of them. If/when I become 'with-her' in the future, it will be mine all mine because I owned it first. At least that's what I tell myself.

My wife drives "Ours" daily. I wanted the HHR, she originally wanted an equinox, but after she drove the HHR she was convinced. Now she loves it. I hope to drive it to work at lest once a week. Right now I drive the 91 Crap-o-lier. I have a 61 belair that sleeps in the garage waiting for a new motor right now.

I bought my HHR as our family vehicle but it's MINE. I haven't even let my wife drive it once in my year or so of ownership.
