The 1LT has a 2.2 eng. The 2LT has the 2.4 eng. And if you get whiplash when you put your foot in it, you got an SS.

Wrong answer, you can also have a 2.4 in the 1LT as an option.

My understanding is that the simplest way to tell is by looking at the grill and mirrors. If the grill and mirrors are chrome then you have an LT2, if they are body colored you have an LT1.

I was trying to sort this out myself last night as I just got an '07 "LT" and didn't know if it was a "1" or a "2". Many of the 2LT package options can be had as an option on the 1LT model, but they would be standard for 2LT. From what I'm figuring out the bigger engine, 17" wheels, sport suspension, Pioneer audio, additional chrome trim, etc. are all standard on the 2LT. Leather seating is supposed to be part of the package too, but mine has cloth..... go figure.

My 1LT has a 2.4, chrome mirrors, handles, roof rack, grille, tip and leather. Don't have sunroof, upgraded stereo, big wheels. You can pretty much option them to death.

This seems true- my 2LT doesn't have leather, sunroof, of roof rails, but everything else (save a spoiler I guess) is standard. I guess in the end you just have to check the VIN-

Given all the wrong answers, how about a very simple way to tell?

Unless the OEM wheels have been replaced, ALL 1LTs will have a 16" wheel. ALL 2LTs will have a 17" wheel.

There ya go!

I believe only the 2LT (and the Shadow Edition) has the FE3 suspension in the option code list found in the glove compartment.
You can also use your VIN to look up a full option list here :
