I hope not. The HHR is one of the few GM vehicles that hasn't been badge engineered to death.

It looks like a car, on Truckshop.com's website, it's under the trucks, and on the Sierra Chevrolet website, it's under the SUVs. Talk about a stealth auto ---!

The very successful GMC Arcadia is car based (lambda) is expected to get a version of the theta architecture too (car based as in VUE, Equinox, and Torrent).

The Saturn ION, Chevrolet Cobalt, and Pontiac G5(Canada version Pursuit) are all Delta engineered vehicles just like our beloved HHR.

Thumbs down HHR to be killed in 2011??

If retro styling cues are to be removed from the 2011, and if the name HHR stands for HERITAGE high roof, then will the name be changed too?

HHR: GM will add a turbocharged HHR SS for the 2008 model year, featuring a 260-hp four-cylinder engine.

The HHR will be freshened for the 2009 model year; a redesign is slated for the 2011 model year. Much, if not all, of the retro styling theme is expected to be abandoned.

Ah, but a precedent was indeed set for the GMC division to put their name on a car-based vehicle...The GMC Sprint, but you might more recognize them as a Chevy El Camino. I've often thought of what a GMC version of the HHR would look like. Later GMC car/truck was called a Caballero.
