Well my journey has come to and end with My 2007 Chevy HHR LT. The final milage on it was 351,9xx miles. we had our ups and downs, it was a love/hate relationship but over all she was a good gal.
it ended with a terrible rod knock and no longer fires. May she Rest In Peace.

Just put "new" engine, and you'll be good for another 350 :-)

 

Yeah, if the rest of her is still in pretty good shape, a low-mile engine oughta get you a long way down the road.

 

 

I've even thought about finding a mill "early", and picking through it, improving what I can, freshening things up and replacing wear items, and having it ready for that awful day when Herman's current heart gives out... or when I just think it'd be a good idea to go ahead and transplant.

A little more oomph would be welcome, but I'd have longevity at the top of my list. Probably do the tranny too, while I was at it... and some of the harder to reach bits in that part of the car.

 

May I ask what service was done to get to the 350K mark ?

 

just the basic tune ups and oil changes, the occasional radiator flush ect. discovered it had jumped time and ill need a new timing chain to fix it. at this point i do believe ill replace the engine.
its been a good car and im not quite ready to let her go. LOL
