Reactivating DRL?

Hello all,

I have looked through the various forum articles regarding DRL, but haven’t found an answer to my question yet. I have read that most HHRs seem to be equipped with some sort of DRL. However, mine (retrofitted for Germany/Switzerland) doesn’t have any DRL whatsoever, even when on Auto-On lights setting.

I would like to activate the “Canadian style” DRL, meaning that the low beam lights are always on with reduced intensity. Fuse 31 is there. Is there anything else I should check or change (if it’s possible at all to reactivate it...).

Regards,
Patrick

I know that the DRL's are controlled by the body controller. I would guess that the controller is programed differently for your country.

run thru the DIC and see if you can reset them there.

Yeah, right Skyline.....

He should go through the expense of buying a new/different vehicle and then the expense of packing and shipping it to Europe, then pay the duty fee......all for wanting DRL's. I really like your thinking. (having fun, don't get upset).

Not sure if ALL HHRs are like this, but mine (2009) has a relay & seperate fuse in the under-hood panel to control DRLs. I purposely pulled the fuse to keep mine from coming on.

Might be that simple.

I thought there was a relay also.
If it's a 2006 DRL will be the marker/turn signal lamps.
Skyline was talking about importing the Module, not the car.

Thank you all for your input. The DIC doesn't seem to have any relevant settings. I will go over the manual and check for the relay you mentioned.

Ok, checked and DRL fuse and relay are there. Seems then that the DRL behaviour is controlled by the software I guess.

Could the body controller be programmed by a GM car dealer?
