other than the sandblasting issue , has anyone gotten a deep scratch or a ding or small dent on the back passanger doors ,a few inches below the window, please mention if you have running boards , splash guards ,both or none ?

 

I have a small paint chip right above my chip deflector. I have no splash guards or running boards. Where in NY do you live Red-Hot-HHR?

 

None there but I have running boards and splash guards. Do have a nice dent from a jerk who was mowing his lawn along the road and threw a stone at me, sounded like a bullet when it hit the car, a good size dent just above the GM emblem on the passenger side. Bummer!!

 

None! I do have running boards and splash guard. My suggestion to anyone buing a HHR, Get the running boards and splash guards as a must.

 

I think you're not going to find anyone with the exact same problem and if you do in no way is it going to ge GM, the HHRs design, or Chevys fault. I have both the splash gaurds and the running boards and I have a few scratches and chips in places other than where you mentioned. None of which I blame on anything other than day to day driving.

 

I KNEW you would have a negative comment thinking someone was trying to blame GM for somthing , I AM NOT AND WAS NOT blaming GM for anything .
ALL i did was ask a simple question !!!!!!

I think I'll return to my corner and take a time out for now. Ok as long as we're not trying to blame it on the HHR.

 

Just got done washing and waxing and no dents ro scratches. I have just the boards on mine. Only have a few paint dings up front from normal driving

 

yes i have a couple of scratches on pass. rear door about 7 " down and about 5" inches in from front door gap i didn't have running boards but i installed them today it only took aout 2 hrs
