Angry Rear hatch hight

Hey all, new guy here, I cannot find what I'm after anywhere on the forums here.

I don't have an HHR..............yet..workin on it.

I cannot seem to see firemangeorge's image (maybe it no longer works), but I was wondering if someone could tell the the exact height of the rear lift gate opening (center is fine).

I estimate it to be 30 - 36 inches but need a precise size (weatherstripping seal area)

Also, that plastic at the bottom, found on either side of the "hook" latch - does anyone know how much space is under it if it were removed, meaning, would the total opening height be taller?

Thanks everyone in advance

Welcome to the site HHRiot.

So sorry that you can't view my picture. Unfortunately, it's been deleted ( along with many others of mine) by the owners of this site. Reasons still unknown.

BUT. I am willing to post up another one. Just give me a little time and I'll take another picture and add the measurements.
Check back later this morning.

I moved your post into its own thread to get more attention.

Welcome to the site

The hight of the rear opening is 30'' in the center. However as you move inward the upper molding will decree that 30'' to 29 1/2 max hight.

I think this is the picture you mentioned from firemangeorge

I have fit a USPS pallet in the back of mine, the ones with the feet raise it up enough to go over the lid guides on the wheel wells.

Thanks Lucky. That was the picture, but "somewhere deleted" is that same picture that had the added dimensions.

Just decided I'd take another one and do some quick remeasures for the new guy. ( you know. Since I'm temporarily retired, my wife says I have all kinds of free time on my hands. )

That one measurement is about a foot inside at the notch protusions. It shows the narrowest inside width.
