Look in your Owner Manual?

Yes there is. As Don said, look in your owners manual. It has all the fine detail points on how to use it.

After you get familiar with the emergency release you really don't need to use it. Just hook up your battery charger or jumper cables under the hood. You'll then have battery power () to "pop" the hatch.
(sorry Don. Had to let him in on the Top Secret info...... )

We are hiding them real good! Not highlighted or all caps or underlined or anything, just tiny small print hidden away.

If you have a 9 bolt battery and power port adapter, you can plug in the adapter and connect the battery then go out back and pop the hatch.

Inside the car on the rear hatch panel there is a removable plastic piece - remove it using a screwdriver
Now stick that screwdriver in the hole at the bottom edge of the panel rail - pushing straight in - will take multiple tries until door pops open.
This happens with a dead or low battery situation.
Disconnect the Negative Battery cable First
After ~30 minuets replace with a New Battery and replace plastic tab back on the inside of the door panel.

The manual makes this sound easy but we had to make a few attempts to get it open, but it worked.
My battery was at 12.48 when the FOB would not open doors and Alarm would not shut off.

Then why not unlock the door with the key ? Then turn on the ignition to kill the alarm.
We were just trying to explain to Jit that he didn't need to use the emergency hatch release. There are much easier ways to open the hatch.
(Oh. And this thread was from last year)

I unlocked the driver’s side front door with the ignition/door key, the alarm didn’t stop, I inserted the ignition key into the ignition switch, and turned the key to the start position and released, the alarm didn’t stop, the 12.3 volts was to low the allow the BCM to recognize the signals. The AAA guy inserted the 9 volt device into the power port, the alarm shut off and the rear hatch touch pad worked to open the rear hatch liftgate. The battery, just 4 years old, had 2 dead cells and was pronounced dead, a new battery cured the issue.
Before he installed that new battery he , ensured the ground wire connections were clean and tight. That battery lasted 7 years.
