Rear shock question

Rear shock question

Does anyone have a part number on the good/better KYB rear shocks? I put on a set of the monroes and I feel they missed it on the valveing of those by a mile..... feels like it has a 50-100k shocks on it while it only has about 500-600 on the new ones.

The FE5 suspension is a little stiffer, but KYB doesn’t show a part number ,
in the RockAuto site they have AC Delco struts for the SS.

No, this is for a 2007 Hooptie HHR I bought to replace the Saturn Hooptie that got totaled by a girl running a red light. It's actually a loaded decent 2LT but as usual I can't leave anything alone. 150 k on it, got it cheap, rebuilt the complete front end. Struts, Springs, outer tie rod ends, lower control arms sway bar end links.
It had a blown rear shock and I just bought the monroe stuff from rockauto and the rears suck badly. Like i said they missed the valving by a mile for a car that heavy in the rear.

I think the shock I want it the KYB 349043..

Sorry shouldn't have hijacked another thread especially since it's about front struts and I'm in need of the rear shocks....... duh on my part.

Thanks for moving OB. The shocks I got were the Monroes 5779, for anyone reading this, pass on them.

I agree. Problem I have is that I do own an SS and now the 2LT with a 2.4VVT. Major performance and handling difference between the two and as I've said, I can't leave things alone. Her other car is a supercharged Cadillac STS, she works at Target and I really don't want her taking the Cadillac to work and leaving it in the parking lot, but......... So that is why we had the Saturn and now the regular HHR. She would go to the store and buy planting plants and put them in the truck of the Caddy..... if you could have seen the look on my face it would been..... well you know what I mean. My ranting is done now and feel much better.

Rear springs wear out. 5779 is the correct FE1/FE3. I never had a problem but, I replaced the springs at the same time I did struts.

Copy that Don. Changing the springs didn't occur to me. The feeling I'm getting is when going over say a dip (not be confused with a dip sh*t) in the road the back end will rebound high then low and then settle which I equate to a valving issue or worn/blown shock.
