The OP never came back and stated it worked by adding a different BCM. I don't think it did.

If you remember ChevyMgr, i had asked the same question some time ago, and you told me to look for the AP3 option code on the sticker located in the passenger glove box. Well. I don't have AP3. So I have to assume that there's a missing pigtail or wiring harness somewhere, and if one want remote start, they'll have to give GM more $$ to make it work. I can confirm that remote start can be enabled in the DIC (which i find weird on a vehicle not equipped with that option, and got me to assume that something was missing in my vehicle).

I don't know for sure but your HHR not having remote start might have something to do with it being Canadian built. My knowledge is of vehicles built for sale in the USA and when I just looked at your build sheet and I see options that have no description for them and that are not on the 2008 RPO lists that I have access to. And 2 options we don't see in the states: RSZ (French ID) and Z49 (Canadian Base Equipment). The Z49 might be why it doesn't have remote start.

Now you're asking more from me than might be possible.

I think Z49 Canadian base equipment relates to the gauge cluster being metric. RSZ probably relates to the user manuals, as they are french manuals. The window sticker that came with my HHR is also in french.
