Talking Removal of 3rd Brake Light Cover

Howdy all! I'm trying to remove the plastic cover to get to the 3rd brake light so I can install my HHR Decal. I'm afraid of breaking the cover. Is there an easy way to remove it without damaging anything?

Grab it and pull. It will just pop off with hand pressure. Thats how I did it:

If your afraid to do it that way grab a trim removal tool and pop it off.

What Captain said. you need to pull quickly and firmly - prying slowly can sometimes bend the retainer clips. Give a firm yank. Start on one side, pull one clip, move to the other side, pull one clip, the other two should come off easy then.

That did the trick. Thanks guys! I did a quck pull and it came off easily.

yeah but then the light fixture itself is bolte in how do I get to it?

Not unless you can flatten your fingers like Plastic Man. All you need to do is just unscrew the two bolts on each side, and then just let the light assembly hang down. It's not going to hurt the wiring or the fixture. Then just follow the directions for the decal, bolt the assembly back on and bing bang boom, you're done. If I can do it, anybody can.

oh I have no doubts in my ability to do it...but I just didnt want to go unbolting stuff if there is an easier way...
