Removal of Rear Wiper

Are there any concerns when removing the rear wiper assembly from the HHR all together? I never use it, so I'd like to remove the entire assembly from the back door.

I disconnect the rear wiper by removing the fuse.
I seems I am continually hitting the rear wiper switch when I am taking my coffee cup in and out and the wiper blade goes on with dirt and grime which can damage the rear glass if it repeatedly happens.

That is not however addressing the overall look in the rear but you might consider if completely removing it would affect resale down the road.

No concerns. Somewhere, there is a video or thread where somebody did that, and stuck a backup camera in the hole. If I were in the desert, and never used it, that's a mod I would pursue.

In Michigan, there's so much slop around now... that would be shooting yourself in the foot.

The hole takes a 1 inch plug, like the round one at the bottom of the driver side door.

I pulled mine off and used a 1 1/2" brushed stainless sink plug that I purchased from the big box home improvement store. Used silicone on the outside and thread lock on the inside. Be careful as when tightening down you can deflect the exterior sheetmetal.

George,

It's Sad but time is passing us more refined Old timers by ....

In my day Pig Latin was the Craze and I can still speak it fluently over 60 years later.

Bet the "youngins" can't do that.
