Revised Head Rests

Does anyone make a product or has someone come up with a solution for the rear seat Head Rests? They are so high that they really obstruct my view. I currently have removed mine so I can see out the back window, but I do not like the holes that are left in the seat when I do this.

Although I don`t have a solution to your problem, I wouldn`t alter the rear seats to conceal the headrest mounting holes, simply because they really are there for neck protection. When you have passengers in the back seat, you may legally need them, sorta like car seats for toddlers/infants.
Although I`ve never heard of anyone getting a ticket for not having them, if you had a rear ender (God forbid ), and someone had neck injuries.., well you see where I`m going.
I don`t have mine in , for the view reason, but they`re in the cargo area if I need them...

They don't bother me. I can tell there there. But they don't block the rear view from the mirror. I can still see straight out the back.

I have to agree that they block your view. I also keep the seats folded down most of the time. The headrests also get in the way when I try to fold the seats down. I've considered removing them and storing them in that little compartment behind the seats so they're available if I need them.

I think you only need them when an adult sits in the back seat. Most children wouldn't even sit high enough to reach them.

I've learned to get used to them being there. Good idea about folding the seats down too. I rarely have anyone in the back seat of my car except my grandchildren and 2 of them are in car seats, so it's really not an issue.

I'm sure you could find some sort of plug to put in there to cover the hole. Go to AutoZone and check out the section that has the HELP accessories. They have some packages with plugs in them in all different sizes...that's where I got mine to put in the hole where my rear wiper used to be.

I think you need them for the LATCH system, too. For correct installation, the overhead straps of a LATCH system child restraint seat has to be strung underneath the head rest, between the two support posts.

The best thing I could think of to do with them it just take the damn thing right out of the car.
