I would agree.
I test drove both HHR's with 16's and 17's. I ended up getting the 2LT with the 17's and I am very satisfied, but I did notice a bit of a difference, although I agree with some of the earlier posts, it still is, in my opinion, a pretty quite ride. You do "feel" more of the road with the 17's.

When I test drove the HHR I noticed right away that it was much quieter than my own vehicle (2003 Malibu). The HHR is not as quiet as the Equinox, but it certainly has a quiet ride as far as I'm concerned.
Both of my Malibus had Firestone Affinity tires on them, and they were way too noisy (and crappy tires IMHO). I think the HHR I took for a TD also had Firestone Affinity tires, but it was much quieter.

zxkeller, the HHR does have significant road noise, but I'm not sure if it is road noise or wind noise or if there is even a difference. If it is in fact, wind noise from the windows and what not then I don't know if Ziebart would be of any use.

Look into audio sound proofing from the inside too. I'm going that route.
Te car is not terrible with noise, but my other car is a Buick..
mIght as well see if I can make our Chevy sound like Buick from the inside

audio sound proofing helps a lot did a 05 scion XB was like a diff. car. a little work to do but what a diff. the inner wheel welds doing the back side cuts a lot of road noise from tires. inside the spare tire hole helps also. its like a big can back there. wipers make wind noise take them of and go for a ride ,see if it is not better, I took of oem put on new after market

I am having the sound barrier Z undercoating done this weekend. They quote around 40% lower sound level but I would be happy awith 25% reduction. Adding Dynamat in the wheel wells and doors, and I should be in pretty good shape!
