Road Trip, San Diego to New Orleans

Well I left San Diego on 3/15/07 (thursday) at 9:00am and arrived in New Orleans on 3/16/07 (friday) at 7:30pm. 1,800+ miles averaged 28.2 miles at end. some periods my average was down to 25.6 mpg on the dic, i think that may have been during the first half of Arizona, where it was a steady incline of altitude, I did notice a better average when i kept the mph around 65, and worse when it was at 80 mph. Ohhhh and the stretch between San Antonio and (Houston especially) Lafayette, La, sucked......

That's a really LONG drive, but I think it should have been longer. Did you EVER stop, or just wear the diapers??

Any particular reason you headed to New Orleans? I've been to San Diego and loved it. Very expensive but very beautiful!

Also bought a portable hand held CB radio with external antenna, to monitor the Trucker reports on CHP.

Well, enjoy the gulf coast while you're here. There's still a lot of rebuilding going on. The casinos in Mississippi are almost all back in business.

We had a cold front come through this weekend but it will be beautiful most of the week. Of course, the weather is great down here when I'm traveling north!

Wow, that's a nice trip.

I know it's not that long of a drive from Chi but we took Gomez on his first road trip to Milwaukee on a half tank of gas. WOW. At times my hubby hit 80mph. Avg speed on the DIC about 30. That was really awesome. We fill it up before we left and he was at half when we got back.

I love this car. BTW, even with rising gas prices, he still only needs gas every five days and fills up for $30!

I LOVE MY HHR!
