Roadtrip preparations! (pics)

So I had to drive down to San Jose from the Seattle area. It was a perfect trip to break in the HHR, which now has close to 4,000 miles (after getting to SJ).

Since I didn't really want to spend $115 on a bra, I did the next best thing, make one out of blue painters tape! After an hour, I had the front end taped up.

However, halfway through I got lazy and my back started hurting. You can tell because the hood is done meticulously while the bumper is just half assed.

Of course the car wouldn't be complete without me writing stuff on the side of the car with the tape. It says "ZOTAC NVISION '08 KIOSK 300" for those that are interested.

After driving for a while, my friend and I got bored and added the ^_^ asian smile to the hood.

I'll probably do more/different things for the drive back up .

People are all truly unique in the crazy world.

Nice tape dude.

I can make a damn good cardboard side window for an s-10 out of duct tape and a box (city livin has it's downsides). Complete with plexiglass porthole.

Why painters tape, I am to understand that it will not leave any residue on the paint job and very easy to remove. If so I think that is great Idea and does this tape come in all colors. lol

thats actually a pretty widely used method. I know of a lot people with classics and Ricers that when going to shows that are a distance away put the tape on and then just peel the off the bugs and clean the windshield.

Looks like it belongs in some County fair derby of some sorts.
